Written during the collectives many international residencies & performances the tracks on this album echo melody and rhythms that transcend the nation state. 6-track musical journey inspired by the stories contained within the 200 year old walls of the Literary & Scientific Institute, Bridport. UK. The title track features a Musique Concrete composition of Manipulated recordings of the natural acoustics of the basement during various periods of the day. These form textures and tones for which a lone melodica and cello improvise a haunting melody producing a classic hybrid of sonic art & Dub Jazz. Commissioned by PVA for the Swipe Festival 2000.
